I too started with tractors and moved to trucks. It is important to note that unlike tractors, the resale of vehicles is a little easier. It is also a "little" easier to get some of the money invested back when selling a truck, where a tractor sale will likely cost you in the end.
Vehicles usually take twice as long too, as there are more parts, and do require more repair since they get pushed past there expected usability.
If your truck looks good to you, start with mechanical repairs so you can enjoy it. Get it safe and on the road before pouring money into it.
