glad the smell is gone. flatheads create lots of carbon. best to clean it all out every 20 or 30K. one way to slow it down is run higher octane fuel. but back in the flathead era it was very common to pull heads and clean everything up. was done in service stations. I used to have a walnut blaster that had a set up for doing it without pulling the head. got it from an old mechanic, mentor of mine who used it in the 50s.
