The flatties were really under-carbed. I did headers, duals, and an intake to very small HP gains. So I put on a vacuum gauge and test drove it.Full speed, full throttle, stil had 3" of vacuum. Went to a bigger carb, and wah-la, 10 more HP.
I like the Rochester Mono-Jet, baut anything from the /6 or bigger modern 6. Holley from a Ford 300 perhaps. But they are all hard to find with a manual choke.
