Many of us are going through this kind of thing and most of us will eventually. It’s much harder than you think it’s going to be when you envision it as a youngster. The good times get fewer and farther between but, with luck, they will still show up from time to time. Laugh when you get a chance and rest assured that it’s not going to be for vain.
I wish the best for you and yours. We’re going through a similar situation with my wife’s parents and I truly support her and I will to the end. It’s our turn to sacrifice some of our time and emotions. I hope that our kids aren’t unduly burdened when we get there and are needing care. I’ll try to remember what it was like and to be positive and polite. Knowing me, I’ll forget from time to time.
You’re not going through this alone. I know that’s not going to make it any easier but at least it might provide some minor comfort. Hang in there and that’s an awesome idea for door art!
