About a dozen years ago, I found a ship for sale cheap. Not just any old ship this one was totally cool. Built in the late 1930s it was a half passenger, half freighter tramp steamer. Something you'd see hauling stuff around the South Pacific islands. (Actually diesel, not steam) At one point in the 70s? It had been used as a research vessel and all the lab stuff was still there. Much of the machinery was in need of help. Gen-sets were broken, I think the main engine needed to be rebuilt. I forget now.

The plan was to get it running, then bring it up and anchor it off town here in the bay and live on it. I thought that would be just the coolest thing.

Julie doesn't like to say no to stuff and to be fair, she never did say no to it. But.. She was all kinda; "Please don't buy the ship?" And I didn't. (It was less then $50k, Cheap house)

But from then on, whenever I come up with a hair brained idea like buying the Carryall, she just says "At least its not the ship!" And she's good with it.
