The power assist setup has to come from a big truck

The 1957-1960 W100 to W300 power steering setup is a steering box not an assist setup. The 1961-1971 W100 to W500 trucks use a power assist setup, but the drag link is where the control valves are and the drag link is a different size for different trucks. So the W500 parts are likely to be specific at least in part.

Since you’re working on a 1960 W500 that’s a bigger problem as the steering box and frame change in 1961 so you might need parts that are specific to the 1958-1960 W500. I’ve seen a PG W500 with PS, but the salesman books don’t list PS as an option on the W500. I checked the 1960 parts book and there are at least a couple PS items listed that are specific to the W500 so I can only assume the system was made.

The basic steering box and steering wheel on a 1960 W500 are listed in the parts book as interchanging with the 7000lb front axle D500, D600, D700.

So you’re going to have to search hard to find just the right pieces.
