I was getting trucks ready for the VPW Rally one year. I wound up the cable tight on the drum on the LU2 Braden winch on my '62 W100 Town Panel. Marty left early to help get the Rally setup....and drove the Town Panel....100 miles to Fairfield.
Little did we know, I had forgotten to disengage the PTO. Luckily I had remembered to disengage the dog clutch at the winch drum. But, for 100 miles, the PTO and all of those shafts, u-joints, and winch gears were turning at who knows what rpm behind a 440 big block with 4.11 gears cruising at about 65 mph.
All got well lubricated....
