for anyone interested in restoring antique gauges. Back in the day radium was used for holding illumination on the faces of the gauges. Not only did this cause horrible cancer in for those painting radioactive radium in the factories, the dust from these dials could be inhaled and prove a serious hazard. I strongly recommend leaving this operation up to a professional who is equipped with proper tools and facility or at least use a positive pressure mask.
