Marty: When we rebuilt my engine we discovered a crack in the crank when we magnafluxed it. I could not find any crankshafts that were OEM or did not need to be turned. So I didn't want anything turned more than 20 thou on the rods and mains... I believe John B from Midwest has some good machined takeouts. I got mine from Egge Machine in California. They're a bunch of old geezers (like many of us....) who are experts in engines. And they had a crank hanging around....

So before you buy a crank, I'd suggest putting your hands on the rod and main bearings. If you buy a crank turned 30 on the mains and can't find the bearings.... then you have a nice table base.

Now if you need them and can't find them... Egge will make rod and main bearings. And pistons for that matter. Fortunately there plenty of them around so you don't have to go that route.
