I figured it's a flat head thing, so much surface area to the combustion chamber that gas condenses out.

I've had them on the dymo. Tailpipe emmissions good, horsepower excellent at 60 to the ground. So I don't worry about tail pipe noise.

hmmm, I wonder if negative overlap in the valves does something to exhaust noise?
