Unfortunately my wife is Vietnamese and lived in a village/town and had siblings killed. You will never convince her and I don't try. My life has been a piece of cake so far and her's bad enough she had to escape her country, loose relatives and have a husband die with kids 3 and 5. We've been married 20 years now and I finally figured out what I did right. I married someone smarter than me the second time around. No, she can hate guns and I'll just keep them out of her sight.
