I bought a 230 cast iron head on ebay for $20.00 bucks and the seller didn't say anything about it's condition. When I got it, the spark plugs were coned from rust, had a crack in one of the chambers, a real mess. I used MG rod to repair the crack and build up the spark plug seats and used steel thread inserts made by Perma-plug to rethread the spark plug holes which have worked extremely well. The head is the one pictured on my site and has been on my truck for 7 years with no problems. You can do it!
