Had a look at the body mounts. Now I'm depressed..
One was loose. One is missing and is just a piece of old scrap 2x4 jammed in there. One looks like the wreck of the Bismark.. Now the other mystery about why the brake petal keeps touching the top of its floor cutout is solved. I guess as I drive this poor thing its just beating the body mounts down.

Arrgh!
