Can’t say I’d try it or recommend it But: When I was a teenager in the 50’s there was a shadetree mechanic, body man & general Mr Fixit in the neighborhood. Rather unconventional but was a master at what he did. When I hear of carbon build up issues, I recall a day when one of the “little old ladies “ in the neighborhood brought her car to Mike because it was getting old & tired. Mike started the car and let it idle for quite a while. He opened the hood and removed the air cleaner and sped up the engine and began pouring a coke bottle of some mystery clear stuff down the carburetor while the engine began to choke and smoke. In no time he let the car go back to a rather smooth idle. He put on the air cleaner, closed the hood and had me go get the owner whom he told that the motor was just dirty there was no charge. When I asked mike what the mystery liquid was, he told me that it was water. He said the owner would never open the engine up enough to blow out the carbon and that the cold water would break-up the carbon build-up. When I asked him if it would work on any car, he said “as long as it doesn’t have Aluminum heads or pistons.
