Moms are the toughest to let go of the home she raised the kids in, too many memories float in their head! As far as moving Dad's shop, well, I still have cans of miscellaneous nuts, bolts, screws, "whatchamacallits" left over from his 60 plus years of tinkering, along with a few from his Dad that he inherited, plus my collection. My wife didn't understand how so much stuff in cans was about until I explained fasteners at the hardware store is like hot dogs at the grocery store. It takes a few packs to even the count of bolt to nut, otherwise you have "leftovers", hence the can collection!
I've only gotten as far as sorting by similarity, with a few toss outs. Even found a pile of Dodge stamped bolts in one can, which come handy!
