I am all for original equipment, but in defense of electric fuel pumps, notice how many have converted from vacuum wipers to electric wipers. I must say the biggest problem with them is that people try to buy the $10.99 inline pumps and expect them to work forever. They are okay as an interim fix, but that's all. Buy a good quality pump and you will not be sorry. I have one that's been in operation on my F350 for at least 25 years. My only objection is that I can hear a constant buzzing, in spite of rubber padding between it and the frame.
