Sounds fun. What route are you thinking about?
We took our first CA/AZ road trip last spring in a beater car. Wanted to go see the military surplus outfit that snowbird told us about in AZ but we ran out of steam and vacation time around Havesu. Camped a few nights at rainbow basin outside Barstow - loved it. But there is prettier country if you come down through Utah.
Old rigs in modern traffic kind of scare me, but you know that territory already so i’ll spare you the cautionary tales. My biggest concern on any trip nowadays is my back.
