Keep in mind that installing a tapered roller bearing in yhe upper steering knuckle location, in place of the tapered bronze (non-rolling) bearing is reported to reduce the steering effort noticeably. So that's something to keep in mind for Snowbird's reassembly to help reduce steering effort.

Some folks think the tapered bearing is not as durable as the bronze bearing, mainly under offroad usage, but based on what I've read, Charles Talbert at M-Series Rebuild installs the roller bearings exclusively for all of his customers, and they've never had an issue. He has been in business for a long time and has done MANY rebuilds for customers going back many, many years and says there has never been a problem. If you've ever spoken to Charles or read his forum posts (mainly on other forums, such as the Power Wagon Advertiser forum), then you know he does nothing but high quality work so that the customer will have a top-notch product that will last for the long haul. To me, this is a very positive endorsement for using tapered roller bearings in the upper knuckle bearing position, so much so that I'm about to do that on my '49 Power Wagon.
