I didn't want to crawl under the dash, AGAIN. And, it being a new toy and all.. I spent some time on it.
Sand blasted most of the rust off the outside. Because I find that sand blasting is a lot of fun. Then sprayed it with snake oil and gave it a smack with a hammer. The latched moved, so I kept spraying and smacking it back and forth. Within about five to ten minutes everything was working again.
I took it down and had it hot tanked for about 10 minutes to clean out the sand and grit, paint, a little white grease and it was ready to go!
I wish everything on that machine worked out so slick.
