Bill: I guess the big question for me would be, did you happen to see if the bushings would slide over the axle before you put them in? I spent some time testing and measuring mine before I put them back in because the ones that that were in it were clearly wrong. I still stand by my opinion that the bushing is harder to crush than you may think, my money is betting that the front edge of the bushing where the shaft goes in may have been damaged when you put it in if you did not use something softer than the wood to hit it in.
