I shot some light sewing machine oil in there and used the end of the old cable to spin it around with my fingers. I can hear occasional "grunk" sounds. I'm thinking it needs a new bearing or something like that.

I don't want to open it 'cause I'd like to get it rebuilt and I'll probably just make things worse if I get in there.

My new Tach. is nearly installed. Wow Tachs are hard to find these days!
