Charles Talbert, and others like Bob Jones installed a underbed oil cooler to help with the heat in the TC, along with using synthetic oil. I think for trucks that regularly are driving highway speeds it is a concern. I believe they hit a few snags with how it worked but you could look over on the PWA site where many of the posts were.
As far as synthetic, the problem for me would be keeping it in; TC’s are bad about weeping lubricant and you would need very good seals and surfaces, and still probably have to top off periodically.
