1954 4x4 Dodge Power Wagon. (1-Ton) C1-PW6-126 (South Central, MO)

Known Historical Data:
This truck was purchased near Asheville, NC in 2003. The truck did not run and had sat unused for many years. Both front tires had been flat; which allowed accumulated leaf debris and water to collect at the front of the steel bed. The lower front bed wall and sides has rusted through from sitting.

From the title provided it noted the truck was last registered in 1978. The truck has been garaged most of the time (since 2003) and has only been used around our farm (MO) property. We never registered it for road use and only occasionally, run back and forth on a rural gravel road to pick-up the mail.

The Good:
The truck appears mostly original and is nearly complete. (Title matches VIN# 83938426 Plate) This truck does not appear to have had a mounted snow plow. Odometer shows 63412.

MECHANICAL: The truck RUNS-DRIVES and STOPS.
The 230 flathead six motor appears original, starts easy and idles smooth. The motor has acceptable power at low speeds.
New coil, plugs and wires. An electronic breaker-less point’s kit has been installed.
Oil PSI indicates near 40 PSI.
The Brake Master cylinder, wheel cylinder, brake lines and hoses has recently been rebuilt or replaced.
The carburetor has recently been rebuilt.
Transmission is complete and shifts through all the gears.
The Transfer case is complete and shifts. Both the 4x4 and hi-lo are functional

BODY / SHEET METAL:
Head light rings are new.
Front sheet metal is in good condition with no rust.
Running boards are solid with only surface rust on the underside.
No rust on the fenders.
95% of the cab is solid with only minor rust, at the floor door post.
The original wood pick-up bed (floor) had been replaced with heavy steel and is very solid.
The rear pick-up bed post where reinforced with steel angle and are solid.
Both doors open & close tight. The latch mechanisms operate smoothly.
The cowl vent is rust free and operational. The vent drain hose has been replaced and is operational.
The truck has the original steel fuel tank. We cleaned it once, and then replaced it with poly boat tank, that sits in the bed.

ELECTRICAL:
The necessary wiring for the starter, ignition and battery’s has been replaced.
The generator appears as original and shows charging on an after-market gauge. The head lights are observed as 12 volt sealed beam.

GLASS: The front Windshield frame & glass is good. The rubber frame seal has been replaced and is water tight. The door window glass roll up & down. The wing windows will open.
The rear cab glass appears original and not cracked.

INTERIOR: The original bench seat cushion and seat back brackets are included. (No cutting has been done to the original metal bench seat base mount). The original bench seat can easily be re-installed.

WINCH: The PTO and winch operates as it should. A farmer fix has increased the winch cable capacity. The spool looks good. Two large tow hooks have been added to the front bumper.
