I was bouncing off Paul's comment about his project. And you could easily fabricate a worthy looking bumper out of a piece of 6" or 8" channel. Cut the holes for the lights and weld a slightly larger piece of round (or rectangular) material to the back side of the holes to protect the lights from mud, snow, etc.
