Performance Distributors (Davis Unified Ignition) makes an HEI distributor for Dodge engines. No external coil, ignition box or ballast resistor is required. I ran it in my 1970 Cuda 340. The motor never ran better. But, the massive distributor, which looked out of place on a MoPar, and the tight clearance to the firewall on a passenger car motivated me to go back to the MoPar distributor, but with an external HEI style coil. It doesn’t run quite as good, but it looks much better at the shows.
