Medium Density Fiber board. Basically wood dust and glue. When used on exterior applications it swells up about 4 to 5 times its manufactured thickness. Take a 1/4" sheet and leave it out in the rain and snow and it grows to 3/4" thick. Might be better than pine slabs... But then further testing may be needed.
