Thanks. That's what I suspected. Sometimes there is no easy and inexpensive way of doing things. The easy way to do this is with a diesel or propane fired block heater, but they are certainly not inexpensive. And I am learning that most of them require directly lighting them at the unit.
Probably easier to just deal with it as I have for 15 years.
