I found wiring diagrams for the thing and spent a fair bit of time studying them. Then I clipped out all but three wires. I connected the blue to the yellow. Now its just yellow blinking power in, red/green blink out. The plan is to tap off the ignition circuit through a 2 wire blinker to the column switch. Easy peasy and should still give full functionality. And, the little light at the tip of the switch works again too.

I'm completing its rebuild tonight as a matter of fact. I'll post pix of on my next blog update.
