its a good design. its a wring system that still works good after 75 years. all the 3/4 ton wcs 12 or 6 volt have the filter in them. replacing wiring with NOS and repro from vintage wring of Maine is the simplest most cost effective way to re wire. certain sections of the harness are still available NOS from the a few of the suppliers and on ebay. I have bought them over the years and they have all been in nice condition. also if keeping it a stock drivetrain and ever plan to resell, re wiring with an aftermarket set up would have a negative affect on value. People that want an original rig don't want some hoaky Painelss or other brand wiring kit in there.
