I thought that the filters were not hooked into the system and was worried about adding problems if I wired them in. I've been reading up on the wiring diagrams and getting a feel for how this thing was wired up.

It seems that there is no resistor or bypass circuit for the 12V ignition on this machine, or was there ever one in the design.

The wiring for the amp meter seems a bit kludgy as is the headlight/blackout lights. My blackout driving light at one point was swapped for what looks like a floodlight. Its resister has been bypassed.

I'm coming up with a plan for doing a rewire. The harness in there now is falling to bits and it needs to go. If I forgo blackout running, I think it will be not so bad to tackle.

Not as bad to tackle?

It'll be a nightmare, I know..
