I've used u-ship.com on a few transports. Everybody from private haul companies with a 12k flat deck on up to 40" professional companies bid on your freight using "squared" dimensions and weight.
I try to keep the bids around a buck and a half, or around twenty percent off of a freight company bid. Kind of tight, but miles add up.
A lot of truckers use this site to pick up loads if their truck is empty going back to home.
