Vacuum Port for Distributor Advance

I'm running a Carter BBD on the 318 in the 6x6. It uses the factory distributor and regular points. Does the distributor advance hose go to the port on the side of the carb (ported vacuum) or to the port on the back of the carb (manifold vacuum)??? Thanks!
