door not lining up

the painter that is assembling some of my truck can't get the door lines to match worth a crap.when i say door lines i mean the part of the door that has the horizontal bump out below the window... he has been doing this for over 50 years so Im not about to tell him something that i know nothing about... it shuts so smooth its not funny but the lines are terrible... i don't think i will be able to leave it like that.. this is not a 50,000 dollar truck it has a enamal paint job that is not flawless by any means..... what could he be missuing on the door that has it off on the lins but shuts like butter..it looks nice as far as the door lines go top and bottom where it shuts... . i don't get it.. sorry if it is hard to understand i don't have a picture...
