Use wet/dry sandpaper 220 grit, wet you housing with water and sand, hose off lose rust with water. Once dry paint with Rusty Metal Primer #7769, Rustoleum paint, let dry for 30 minutes, then paint with gloss black rustoleum. Gives a nice finish and protection. I painted my truck with shaker cans.
