I can remember working at a gas station when I was 15. Gas prices went up and I can remember calling my friend out to witness that I just put $3.00 worth of gas in a VW bug. At 29 cents a gallon, that was quite a feat at the time. I was living high on the hog making 1.50 cents an hour. Quite a pay jump from the ranch hand job I quit that paid 5 bucks a day.
