As the original post conveyed, the desire was for a in-line 6 in either gas or diesel for repowering. I can understand as all my repowering post ,either gas or diesel were directed towards in-line 6 engines. Why? Its just something about how a in-line 6 looks as opposed to V-8s or 4-bangers. The original was a in-line 6 and a 6 runs smoother than a 4-banger yet not as smooth as a V-8 but allows more working room around the engine. I would love to see someone make an adapter to use the 258 in-line 6 used in jeep products or the older AMC stuff with our L-head bellhousing since there seems to be no in-line 6 diesel of adequite power and size for our PWs.
