I always use the best "chemical rated" elbow length rubber gloves I can find. If all you can find is playtex, you are in the wrong store. Most commercial shops have large bay doors, fans, etc. that allow for some passive ventilation around the solvent tanks. This all changes in a insulated home shop in the winter. If your not willing to gargle with it, you shouldn't work over it without lots of fresh air AND a chemical rated mask with fresh cartridges at the very least.
