I have hand cranked a 38' plymouth and other Chrysler L-head engines. All had the ramped crankshaft cog to eliminate harm from kickbacks but, on a difficult engine I had my crotch press against my hand and the end of the handcrank. A kickback occured with the ramped cog forcing the handcrank out just fast and hard enough to bump my little buddies a smart one. Don't try that!
