Hi Mark,
As a matter of fact, I think Dodge is offering extended warrantees on the 2002 models.
Ditto on what Robert said about the 2001 Ram. If the dealer is unwilling to provide coverage, then they know more than they are letting on about that vehicle. The initial great price may become a money pit somewhere down the road. There are hundreds of good running vehicles out there, I'd pass. Just for your info, many, many cars, mostly imports are rebuilt after accidents by attaching front or rear 'clips' by body shops. I have seen two completely different colored cars mated in the middle when the respective front and rear sections of each 'donor' car had been damaged in accidents. Most buyers never catch on until they find themselves buying tires every 4,000 miles, because the car is going down the road sideways. Blackhawk and other companies make computerized frame machine jigs that recreate the factory alignment points during the rebuild process. These machines cost in excess of $80,000 which tells me that this is a very common body shop practice in order to justify the cost of these frame machines.
