Rear axle gaskets?

I have an assortment of gaskets for the hubs on this machine. I notice some are thinner than others. I looked at the tech. manual and didn't see anything pertinent. So, before I slide in a rear axle, is there a preference? Thick or thin? Is there a difference front t back? Hope not, front's all assembled.
