Yeah, my machinist said he ran the block and other parts through a cleaner more than once, so that all I would need to do is use some solvent on the cylinders and crankshaft oil passages to get the WD-40 off, and not need to worry about anything else, including the oil passages in the block, but I'm not gonna trust that. I'm planning to clean EVERYTHING very thoroughly. I've read that soap (dish soap, I suppose?) is great for this kind of thing, at least for cylinders. Is that true for oil passages and other areas, too? Or are there some places where solvent would be better?
