So I picked up another Carryall. Guy I got it from said it came out of NC from the family of a guy who hoarded old trucks of all types but had passed away and the family never knew so many existed; however no full story for each truck, including this one.
Anyways, the insignia is on both sides of the truck and is a "13" inside of a Bomb. The 13th Airborne Division existed in Fort Bragg during late WWII, '44 - '45... However, the 13th Bomb Squadron was in Georgia, outside Savannah during the beginning of the war.
Has anyone seen this stencil type insignia on another vehicle or airplane? I'd love to locate some history of this truck so that when I get to working on it I can revamp some of its original character even though it is getting a power-train upgrade to make it more driveable. I'td be great if it was the 13th Bomb Squadron because they were the Grimm Reapers and that would be a really interesting theme to build this truck around.
