I have used this with success:
EZ Turn Fuel Resistant Lubricant. On the tube: "EZ Turn is a specialty lubricant/sealant that is extremely effective where high octane fuels, ..., are present. It will not crack or dry. Great for ... gasket paste ..."
I purchased mine from Aircraft Spruce and Specialty. A tube will likely last a lifetime for a non-professional.
