From a flat-lander to another, Good luck with the storm, he is growing beyond all expectations of earlier thinking. I thought of it as a rain maker but looks like some wind will be hitting you, 120mph at land fall, Cat2 half way to Gonzales, with up to 30" rain, it's not going to be a good weekend.
Reminds me of Tropical Storm Claudette arriving in Alvin and settling in, dropping 43 inches over the next 24 hours back in 1979.
I'm on one of the highest natural pieces of ground in Galveston County, my floor level is 25' above sea-level, I'm hoping you all are in a elevated area as well.
