Yes several years ago pictures showed a lot of rust starting to come through the paint. Hopefully someone fixed that correctly. A guy in Houston bought it several years ago and was on this form with questions about the truck doing freeway speeds that the dealer promised. I had several email conversations with him about what it would take for it to do 60mph. Basically, the engine needs to turn 3000 RPM to do that with 4.89 gears and a 1 to 1 final drive gear. His options were to change engines or put an overdrive trans in it. He chose to make the dealer take it back as it would not do freeway speeds like they said.
That said this truck keeps poping up every couple of years. No sure why. Possibly, it is being over sold and the thing has got to be noisy unless they did a lot of sound proofing. My carryall finally is fairly quiet but it took a lot of soundproofing. Sound proofing pads and a 3/8 rubber pad on the steel cab floor really made a difference especially under the seat. I am not sure how much Paul in NY sound proofed his trucks but I know he did it. He used a peel and stick stuff that he bought at a hardware store. I used the same stuff and it works better than the expensive sound pads and is a lot cheaper.
