I have been installing my bed and the wood for the past couple of days. I have wondered how easy it went together at the factory with a new and straight parts. My bedsides needed a couple of stake pockets welded on, new lower angle strips and a couple of the angle brackets that the ends of the rails mount to. I mocked it all together so the welder could get it right and made my own wood. The wood that fits into the bedsides is a bear to get in and I had to use clams to squeeze it into place. Then I marked and drilled all the holes, disassembled and painted the wood. Once I got the painted bed parts back, I installed the wide wood into the sides first. The sides then fit onto the rails pretty easily. Today, if I can grab a son before he leaves, I will position the other bedside and give my knees another workout installing all the bolts. There hasn't been any project on this truck that didn't present a surprise but since I had the whole unpainted bed together with the unpainted wood once, it is going back together pretty well In fact. It is one area of the truck that shows a lot of progress with fewer hours involved, just sore knees
