Four years ago I went through three major surgeries and 2 two months of chemo treatments, and some radiation treatments. I'm still here and feel better than I have in 6 or 7 years. But the reality is I'm now 75, and the beans in the jar are getting fewer. I have 4 pickups and 3 boats that I don't use like I used to. Age has a way of slowing you down a bit and, coupled with health issues, it causes you to evaluate your priorities. My sons have followed my love for building, but they simply don't share my interest in old trucks and boats. My wife and family have been a huge support to me through these past 4 years. I have determined that it is wiser for me to start liquidating the vehicles and boats now, while I really don't have to, rather than later, when maybe I will have to. Or, worse yet, leave a big mess behind for my wife and family to try and sort out. Sometimes, as hard as it might be we need to accept what's real. And what better way is there to face reality than to see someone else enjoy that which you have have had your own enjoyment?
