I cut the sidewall in a tire on my trailer and when I called the tire shop they asked if I wanted an actual trailer tire or a truck tire. This got me thinking that since I cannot find a trailer tire made in the USA anymore maybe I can find a us truck tire. I have been told that trailer tires are better on tandem axle because of the tire scrub when turning and that they have more UV additive because so they don't dryrot as quickly. I don't believe anyone actually rates trailer tires for longer life in years than truck tires so I am left with the tire scrub from turning. Has anyone here used truck tires? If so any problems? I tend towards thinking that a top quality US made truck tire will Outlast anything from China. I am not talking old used tires like on some 7k trailers but brand new E rated 235/85/16 tires. I think Goodyear still makes something here and probably others. I also know I will pay more but I pay more for US products all the time.
