....detour on the trip to Blackwater. Instead of turning right onto US 219 south at Red House, from Rt 50, continue east on Rt 50 for another 2.5 - 3 miles to the top of Backbone Mountain. There you will find Backbone Tavern which opens at 3:00 PM. They have your favorite frothy beverages, great wings and other food. It is one of my watering holes and would give all who are driving/riding a nice break on the way to Tucker County.
