I have been an insurance agent here in Ohio since I got out of college in 1984.
When my life settles down next month after getting our youngest off to college in Rhode Island I plan to spend some time creating an informative document for the "Best of the Forum" regarding insurance.
Regardless of who you choose to insure your vehicles with, if you care about the investment value of that car/truck do not settle for anything less than an "Agreed Value" type of product. There are a number of pitfalls with "ACV" & "Stated Value" policies.
Also remember this, I as an agent have NO authority over valuation at the time of loss and in spite of documentation that has been discussed, I seriously doubt that any of your agents have authority either. That is handled entirely by the claims guys who job is to protect the ins company.
I personally insure my classic vehicles with a combination of Hagerty, JC Taylor, and a couple with my standard family program.
